I want to share three funny stories that Richard brought to our lives.
1. Working on our kitchen electrics with a kitchen fitter known as '2 heads' (as Richard said 'cos 1 head wasn't big enough!) Richard found it hilarious to take an opportunity to set him up for a fall.
Kevin had asked the kitchen fitter to find someone to take all the old cabinets away. While working alongside, Richard listened to all the phone calls going on and a deal was struck for £50 and the rubbish was collected. Apparently this was the best price around.
So Richard took time out of the day to drive to our place of work and set up the prank. Richard said 'phone and tell him not to get rid of it as we'd found someone to do it for £20. Give me 15 minutes to get back there though'.
Richard returned to our house and was there to witness the kitchen fitters response after putting the phone down to Kevin. 'F***ing £20 QUID, £20 QUID!!!! Who the f*** can do it for £20 QUID?
Tickled Richard and us when Richard relayed the conversation later that day!
2. Another job, upstairs rewiring. Richard was working alongside a carpenter who was a bit OCD about his tools, lining them up in size order and set out at equal distance on a tool roll. 'Ooops, sorry about that' Richard said as he accidently walked through the tool roll spewing them all over the floor!!!! Naughty Richard.
3. Another project, the pool room electrics and garden lighting. One Saturday morning we drew the bedroom curtains back to see Richard sitting by the pool on our decking. Kevin went down to see him saying 'Rich, WTF are you doing here so early?' and he smiled saying something about seeing what time retired people get up these days!!!! 'Put the kettle on then'!
Always up for a laugh and never failed to have you in stitches.
Thank you Richard for the fun and laughter you brought. Love Sonia and Kevin xxxxx
